As previously mentioned by CRA, the filing and payment deadline was announced for September 1st, 2020 on original files for individuals, corporations and trusts. Announced on July 27th, CRA has now extended the payment deadline to September 30th, 2020. The filing extension will remain the same as of September 1st, but CRA will not charge a penalty if submitted before September 30th, 2020. Please keep in mind that this is only for original tax returns and the hard 18 month deadline stays unchanged (related to SR&ED).
On an additional note for Ontario filers, if a company wants to waive the ORDTC they must file by September 1st, 2020, the previously extended filing due date.
